Hello, my name is Tom
I am a stage and film actor based in Los Angeles, California. I grew up in Seattle, WA to Vietnamese parents and was gifted the craft of acting through high school and University where I received my degrees in Drama, Dance and Business.
Before coming to LA, I was a lounge singer for a number of years as well as the artistic director of my own theatre company, REBATEnsemble Theatre Group where I often wrote, directed and performed. Today my career has expanded to film, television and voice over. I am one of the fortunate few who can say that I've been able to play my dream roles. In 2016 I was given the opportunity to star as in Shakespeare's Richard III and in 2018 I starred as Song Liling in the Tony award winning play M Butterfly. I now have my sights set on doing the same for film and television.
Being a very curious person, the figure of speech "jack of all trades" is an apt way to describe who I am - although I aspire to add "master of all" to the end of that. My goals in life are simple: to experience the most and climb as high as I can to mastering everything I set out to do. My many eclectic interests include martial arts (I have been in Judo, Vovinam and Wushu since I was 11 and I have practice in stage and weapon combat), music, dance, language (I speak English, Vietnamese and Japanese in varying levels of proficiency), and I am a surprising good cook. My parents made sure I grew up working for my money so by extension I am also a very proficient bartender and have been a competition level barista (my latte art can be found in magazines, coffee publications and I even appeared on Nickelodeon to perform my signature foam bears and dragon designs). For that reason, it's only natural I gravitate towards acting as I find pleasure in living a new, imagined life.
I am affiliated with Director's Lab West, Theatre Battery (as co-founder), REBATEnsemboe Theatre Group (as artistic director) and Rogue Artists Ensemble (as artistic associate). My representative team consists of International Artist PR and Talent Management (LA), Image Powerhouse (Theatrical/LA), Prestigious Models (Commercial/LA), TCM Models and Talent (Across the Board/SEA), and Bold Talent (Theatrical, ATL).
